The Big Issue

My work with The Big Issue included Lord John Bird's Alternative Christmas Message (2016), the launch of the Actvist Army campaign for the 2017 General Election and The Big Issue Christmas Single 2017 music video, pulled together entirely from archive material and mastered to AS-11 standard for broadcast.

Street Legal

I was commissioned by Street Legal to create a short film for a fundraising event to promote the positive impact that there services were having on their clients.

Due to client confidentiality I was unable to conduct a video interview so instead brought together audio recordings with an abstract video track of London which increased in clarity over time, echoing the emotion of the person's experience.

No Second Night Out

I was connected with NSNO following my work with Street Legal. The commission was to create a video to support future recruitment campaigns of the main volunteer trainee programme. I worked alongside NSNO to create two edits featuring past and present staff, volunteers and clients of the homelessness initiative.

One Million Mentors

I worked very closely with One Million Mentors over the course of a year on a number of projects starting with coverage of their launch event at London's City Hall including interviews on the night, coverage of the offline mentor training sessions and directing and capturing material for their online training programme with Sue Belgrave.

The Big Draw

I worked with The Big Draw on a variety of projects from re-edits of previous work to original pieces for social media dissemination. I also co-directed the organisation's first video promo for the annual Big Draw festival featuring Andrew Marr.

Battersea Arts Centre:
Bitesize Beats

Bitesize Beats was a Battersea Arts Centre Homegrown project bringing together the reputable BAC Beatbox Academy and emerging and established filmmakers on a collaborative project. The participants worked over 7 weeks to compose original tracks and conceive and shoot music videos ahead of a public showcase event.

My role was to help the young participants shoot the music video for their song but as the project progressed I also provided significant guidance to the group in terms of the direction of the music. The music and poetry in this piece is entirely original and created by the group who were aged from 11 to 17.

Remembering Srebrenica

I was approached by Taslima to conceptualise and co-produce a fashion film to promote her new collection commemorating the 1995 Srebrenica genocide which saw the killing of over 8000 men and boys, one of the worst atrocities in Europe since WW2. The film was a stylisation of a traditional tea gathering that forms part of daily life for the so-called Mothers of Srebrenica. We opted to film in slow motion to accentuate the aesthetic qualities of the clothing and the film itself.

The film was shot on location at Epping Forest, East London.

London Kurdish Film Festival

Launched in 2001, the London Kurdish Film Festival (LKFF) is the biggest film festival of its kind, bringing together films from four parts of Kurdistan and the rest of the world to film audiences in London. A non-profit charity organisation led by a team of volunteers, LKFF has come a long way since it’s inception, now in its tenth incarnation each year the festival grows both in magnitude and significance.

In 2016 I was approached by LKFF to produce a trailer for the festival. This piece was put together from the films featuring at the festival.

WebRoots Democracy

WebRoots Democracy is a youth-led think tank focused on the intersection of technology and democratic participation. They aim to help modernise, enhance, and future-proof democracy in the United Kingdom.

I continue to work with WebRoots Democracy both as a consultant and a videographer making a number of videos for report launches and event coverage. Most recently I produced a video for them which formed part of a successful bid for funding.

My Life My Say

MLMS is best known for championing the voice of 4.5 million young Brits in the Brexit negotiations through outreach events, research, and advocacy work leading the All-Party Parliamentary Group on a Better Brexit for Young People. MLMS has also been widely recognised by the media and Westminster as a significant contributor to the high youth turnout at the 2017 UK General Elections.

My Life My Say approached me to produce a short film to form part of their campaign to increase young voter turnout ahead of the 2017 general election.

UpRising

I was commissioned by UpRising to produce a series of alumni biographies to be shown at their prestigious gala dinner in 2016, hosted by broadcaster Jon Snow. I conducted interviews with the three winners and collated background material to tell their stories. The films were shown to an audience of 200+ stakeholders with over £100,000 being raised on the night.
